Can you believe it's already May? The days are getting longer and warmer, schools will be letting out soon, many are thinking about taking a vacation, and the real estate market is heating up along with the weather!
With changes coming related to buyers agency agreements this year, I'm putting a special focus on supporting buyers. Whether you're a first-time homebuyer, looking to upgrade or downgrade, I'm here to guide you through every step of the process. While I'll still be selling homes and supporting sellers with the same dedication, I want buyers to know that they won't be left to navigate the market alone.
Real estate activity saw a surge in late March and early April, but a slight rise in interest rates caused a brief pause. However, minor fluctuations in mortgage rates are common, and the experts have revised their forecasts accordingly. While rates were initially expected to drop to the low 6% range by the end of 2024, they're now projected to settle in the mid-6% range by year-end, and some analysts predict they won't go significantly down in 2024.

Buying a Home: Is it the Right Time? Market Analysis and Update |

Each month, we've been addressing whether it's a good time to buy, and even though mortgage rates have increased slightly, the message remains the same. If you can afford to buy now, then yes, it's still a good time to buy!
Last year, prices dropped in every market. Over the past six months, most markets have remained stable, and the expectation is that prices will start to rise over the summer months. If rates do drop, prices will likely continue to rise as there will be more competition for each listing.
If you can afford to buy now, when prices are lower, it's recommended that you do so. Then, if mortgage rates drop, you should be able to refinance and possibly even have some equity if your home increases in value. Market Update: Sacramento County
